Keeping All of Those Burning Financial Questions to Yourself?

Ask Us Instead!

“The markets are in turmoil. Do I need to take drastic action to protect myself?”

“Can I retire now and continue to do the things I love?”

“How could I lower my taxes if I sell my business?”

“Can my parents afford assisted living?”

“I have a 401k from my old job. What do I do with it?”

“I need a new car. Should I finance or pay cash?”

“What’s the best way to invest my annual bonus?”

“How do I avoid having concentrated stock in my portfolio?”

“My husband just had a stroke and can’t work. What do we do?”

“How do I make my money work for me for the rest of my life?”

We love talking about money. (You will, too.)

Three people having a conversation in an office, two women and one man, with a laptop on the woman's lap, sitting on a beige sofa and a black chair, in front of a window with white curtains, and green plants behind them.

At Primary Financial Advisors, our goal is to help you feel totally comfortable talking about your money goals. After all, money sustains you, it protects you, and it gives your family a future – we believe it’s a lot more uncomfortable not to talk about money.

“What do I do with my stock options?”
“Should I pay cash or finance my new car?”
“Will my family be ok?”

Our clients call, text, and email us questions at any time of the day (or night) before making money and life decisions large and small. And we wouldn’t want it any other way.

Your interests are our only interest.

We're all about putting you first. We follow a fiduciary standard throughout the financial planning engagement.  That means that we'll place your interests ahead of our own when providing professional services — no hidden fees, no confusing commissions, just honest, straightforward financial guidance. We want our relationship to give you clarity and confidence, to help you build the life that you want to live.

Think of us as your personal financial sounding board. Whether you need help with retirement planning, managing your investments, minimizing taxes, or figuring out how to pay for your kids' education, we're here to help you make smart decisions about your money.

AN EXTENSIVE NETWORK OF PROFESSIONALS

It takes a village to optimize your wealth. We know the village.

Even a great financial plan is useless without experts to put that plan into motion. But over our decades working in corporate America, financial advisory, and in our own life we’ve learned that creating a network of trustworthy, talented experts is harder than you might think.

At Primary Financial Advisors, we’ve already built that network – and we’ve been working with them for years. Whether you need a lawyer, an accountant, a realtor, or any other type of specialist, we’ll help you connect with the people who we feel have great expertise. We want you to have fewer sleepless nights and more confidence, knowing that you can build a team of experienced professionals to support you.

WORKING WITH
PRIMARY FINANCIAL ADVISORS

A relationship that revolves around money.
(Except it’s actually a good thing.)

Three people having a conversation in a modern office. A woman with long brown hair sits on a black chair, facing two colleagues on a beige sofa. The man with glasses and short dark hair gestures as he speaks. The woman on the sofa with blonde bob hair holds a silver laptop and smiles.

First Conversation

Before we craft a plan, we’ll ask, “How can we be helpful?” We’ll focus on what’s important to you in your life – money is just one part of it.

Two people at a marble table discussing finances; one person holds a gray coffee mug, the other writes on a sheet of paper labeled 'Financial' with a pen; a calculator is also on the table.

The Primary Plan

We’ll create a basic, no cost financial plan. Whether you have a simple or sophisticated portfolio, we want you to you feel educated and empowered to make decisions.

Regular Meetings

We’ll meet often (more than just once a year!) to strategize and adjust your plan as your life and the markets change.

Anytime Support

Weekends. Holidays. 10:30 PM before you sign that online doc. Make us your primary resource, anytime you have a question about money.

HOW WE GIVE BACK

Committed to Service —
For Our Clients and Our Community

From an early age, our President and Founder, Brian Sullivan, embraced the value of service—as a three palm Eagle Scout from Boy Scout Troop 306 in Amesbury, and later as a volunteer leader of a troop in Arlington, Massachusetts. Now as a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® Professional and financial advisor, he’s passionate about helping clients receive the highest level of care and guidance.

Beyond financial planning, Brian gives back to the community as a member and two time past President of The Newburyport Rotary Club, a member of the philanthropy board of Anna Jaques Hospital, and a key sponsor of the Newburyport Documentary Festival. He mentors students at Northern Essex Community College in Haverhill as a career coach, as well.

Brian loves to help professionals make connections. He’s one of the founding members of a local networking group, Referrals on The River, and he also holds the financial advisor seat for Business Networking International in Newburyport.

Through our commitment to client service, volunteerism, and charitable giving, Primary Financial Advisors is proud to give back to the towns in our local area.
